Our established client are seeking Healthcare Assistants to work as part of their team in this well respected care home.   

Job Description:

·       To share the responsibilities of meeting the needs of service users whilst respecting their dignity and promoting independence.

·       Assist service users with day to day tasks (i.e. dressing and washing)

·       To assist those with mobility restrictions in using aids and personal equipment.

·       Assist service users’ and help with personal hygiene i.e. incontinence

·       Attend to end of life needs

·       Monitor the needs of the service users and inform other staff in any emergency or situation causing concern for well-being

·       Undertake the role of Key Worker under the supervision of a senior member of staff

·       Promote mental and physical activities for service users through the key worker system such as reading, socialising, recreational hobbies etc.

·       Make and change beds, empty commodes, and light cleaning duties.

·       Inspect, launder and repair clothes where necessary.

·       Assist with serving meals and prepare and serve supper when required.

·       Answer call bells, greet visitors

·       Record communication and information in line with the Home’s procedures

·       Assist residents, relatives and Medical Professionals with review of care

·       Comply with client’s policies and procedures and abide with confidentiality policy

·       Sensitive to the needs of vulnerable adults

·       An active team player but also able to work on own initiative using the code of conduct and training to ensure that anything completed using initiative does not place any persons in danger. 

·      Good communication skills, able to interpret patients who may not be able to speak or have disabilities which impede their ability to communicate.
