Driving Division
Driving and logistics has been the core of Morestaff’s business for over two decades has supplied LGV 1, LGV 2 and 7.5 Tonne drivers for hundreds of clients from small local businesses to large international corporations.

We believe our success is down to using that experience to understand exactly what our client needs so that we can provide them with drivers who can get the right stock to the right place at the right time. Our aim is to provide a bespoke service that meets the demands of our client’s day-to-day workflow, as well as to be able to accommodate seasonal fluctuations and unexpected emergencies.

Morestaff Drivers
We want our clients to be confident with our drivers and would work in partnership to ensure that we always supply them with the right calibre of driver for all aspects of their business.

At Morestaff we expect our drivers to be professional, clean and presentable and work to the highest standards.  All our drivers must meet the following minimum requirements:
  • Have held their licence for a minimum of 2 years
  • Have strictly no more than 6 points on licence
  • Have a Digital Tacho Card
  • Be fully CPC compliant
  • Be subjected to a rigorous annual and quarterly Licence check
  • Have a full understanding of driver hours and the Working Time Directive
  • Have completed a Morestaff induction and are tested on their working knowledge
  • Have a full client briefing
  • Have completed Health and Safety and goods handling training
CPC
Morestaff has always invested in our drivers so that we can provide the best quality service for our clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Our biggest concern is the chronic shortage of drivers across the industry as a whole, and with the CPC deadline on 9th September looming this shortage is set to become more critical.

According to Skills for Logistics, by October 2013, only 40% of the UK’s 680,000 registered LGV drivers had successfully completed their CPC periodic training.  There an estimated 250,000 drivers still to complete their CPC training over the next few months.  The pressure on the DVLA of processing around 25,000 CPC cards per month is likely to create a severe backlog.  The Road Haulage Association (RHA) estimate that this will result in a 4-6 week period after the deadline where many drivers will not legally be able to drive as they wait for their CPC cards to be issued.

Guidance on CPC training for employers.
